Vision & Mission
Our Vision
We’re motivated by the desire to see generations set free from addiction and life-controlling problems through the power of God’s love.
Our vision is for God’s love to transform people through the recovery program at New Life. We believe the impact of a changed life is felt for generations because every born-again Christian is part of a new family — the family of God — and within this living community, estranged and broken relationships can be restored.
Our Mission
Living as an authentic Christian community.
Providing a residential recovery program where those who have lost hope experience God’s transforming love.
Receiving freedom from the chains of addiction and life-controlling problems, faith in the true eternal living God, and a future for one’s life.
Whether it’s hiring staff, inviting volunteers, or informing supporters — we’re always building up the “Church” and advancing the Kingdom. While teaching, programs, and structure are all important, our overarching theme is building an authentic Christian community. This is key to our ministry.
And it starts with our staff and volunteers. The love of Christ needs to be evident in their lives for there to be any meaningful impact on the residents coming into the program.
New Life is a safe harbour for people experiencing the deepest depths of despair. Often, our residents have exhausted many, if not all, of their resources and are looking to God to change the circumstances of their lives.
Our program offers a twelve-month discipleship program where individuals can finally experience freedom from addiction and life-controlling problems. Living within a faith community gives them the support they need to be transformed by the life, healing power, and saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Statement of Faith
What We Believe
Scripture
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally inspired word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matt. 5:18)
The Trinity
We believe in one true God, creator of all things. Eternal, infinite in power, knowledge, wisdom, love, and goodness. Perfect in holiness and unity, existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (John 17:3; Rev. 4:11; Deut. 32:4; Mark 12:29)
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity, hears and answers prayer, and that he saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Christ. (Deut. 7:9; 1 John 4:8)
Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe that salvation is a gift of God brought to us by grace and received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is made sure by his literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God. (John 1:1-2, 4; Eph. 1:7, 2:8-10; 1 Peter 2:24; Romans 8:34)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who among His various ministries convicts, regenerates, sanctifies, guides, heals, and empowers all believers through his continued indwelling and being upon them in power. (1 Cor. 12:4-11; Gal. 5:16-23; Titus 3:5)
Man
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that through Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. We believe Jesus Christ will judge the living and the dead. We believe that everyone will be resurrected. Those who are saved will be resurrected to eternal life and those who are lost will be resurrected to eternal damnation. (Gen. 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 2 Cor. 5:9-11)
Marriage
We believe God created man in his own image; male and female He created them for a procreative purpose and raising of a family unique to the relationship between a biological male and biological female. (Matt. 19:4; Mark 10:6)
Human Life
We believe that all human life is created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically and mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. (Matt. 18:5-9, 19:14-15; Psalm 139)
The Church
We believe in the church; the living spiritual body of which Jesus Christ is the Head of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that the Lord commissioned the church to proclaim to a lost and sinful world that He, Jesus Christ, is the Son of God who suffered and rose again from the dead on the third day, and that forgiveness of sins is available to all who put their faith in Him. We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, associated for worship, good work and fellowship. (Matt. 28:19-20; Eph. 1:22-23; 1 Cor. 14:26; Acts 20:28)
